Living in Hawaii has made a significant impact on my painting. Firstly, my color palette has been largely influenced by the abundance of color and texture. The rain and constant moisture promote growth, sustenance, and are prominent elements in the life cycle. Banyan tree roots hanging down from massive trees, lava, white coral, turquoise waters..heavy grey rain clouds, dark caves,….dense fogs, delicate ferns dripping with water. Mother nature and all her fecundity. My imagination dwells in the world of the primitive, the abstract.
